PHILADELPHIA -- Dodgers outfielder Chris Taylor on Monday was placed on the injured list with a fractured left forearm after being hit by a pitch in Sunday's 7-4, 12-inning win over the Red Sox.

Taylor underwent an X-ray on Monday in Philadelphia after a fluoroscopy taken on Sunday night in Boston came back negative. He was plunked by a 92 mph fastball in the top of the 11th inning, but he remained in the game temporarily before being pinch-hit for in the top of the 12th.

Manager Dave Roberts said he hadn’t yet been given a timetable for Taylor’s return, but the 28-year-old utility man said he was told it’s typically four to six weeks.

"Obviously, I was hoping it was just a bruise, but I wasn’t too surprised that it was fractured," Taylor said. "I had a feeling yesterday, honestly. It was pretty stiff, and I figured it wasn’t going to be any better today. I was hoping it was just a really bad bruise, but I kind of had a gut feeling."

Taylor was hitting .370 with 12 extra-base hits, including three homers, and 17 RBIs over his last 21 games. He had also walked 11 times during that span, giving him a .443 on-base percentage and 1.073 OPS dating to June 18.

"We’re disappointed for CT, because he was playing so well," Roberts said. "He allows for a lot of different things that we do. Hopefully we’ll get him back sooner than later."

The Dodgers recalled Matt Beaty from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take Taylor's spot on the active roster. Beaty went 1-for-1 with a double and a walk in Monday's 16-2 win over the Phillies.

Baez potentially tipping pitches

Roberts said that the club has addressed concerns that reliever Pedro Báez was tipping pitches Sunday.

Baez served up back-to-back homers in the eighth inning, then proceeded to strike out the next three batters after Roberts visited the mound to tell him he may have been tipping.

"Guys taking swings like that off him, in different locations, there’s a red flag," Roberts said.

Baez has allowed six runs and three homers over just 2 1/3 innings in his last three outings. That comes after he allowed just one home run over 39 1/3 frames in his first 40 appearances this season. Roberts didn't get into specifics, but said he has discussed the situation with Baez, and the Dodgers' skipper does not expect it to be an issue going forward.

"We addressed it, and I expect it’ll be cleaned up," Roberts said. "Once you get in the heat of the game, sometimes you kind of revert back to what you’ve always known. That’s something that we, as a coaching staff, have to stay on top of."

• The Dodgers recalled right-hander Casey Sadler from Oklahoma City on Monday and designated left-hander Zac Rosscup for assignment in a corresponding move.

Rosscup, who signed with the Dodgers on June 12, had a 6.00 ERA after allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks over three innings in his latest stint with the club. As for Sadler, he allowed four runs over six innings in two appearances with Oklahoma City after being acquired in a July 3 trade with the Rays.
