Dodgers swat four homers in slugfest with Padres
SAN DIEGO -- The Dodgers clubbed four home runs, with Adrian Gonzalez continuing to torment his former team, in an 11-8 victory over the Padres on Saturday night before a sellout crowd of 44,454 at Petco Park.
Gonzalez had two hits, including a three-run homer, his sixth against the Padres this season and Juan Uribe, Andre Ethier and Howie Kendrick also added long balls for the Dodgers.

Brandon McCarthy (3-0) allowed three runs in the first inning and three more in the sixth, all coming on Justin Upton's second home run of the game.
I've never seen the ball fly out of Petco like I did tonight," Upton said of the seven home runs between the teams.

McCarthy left the game in the sixth inning with tightness in his right elbow.
"I tried to play my way through it tonight and my stuff just diminished," McCarthy said.

Silver Slugger: Before the game, Upton accepted his Silver Slugger Award from a year ago when he was with the Braves. He then went out and popped a two-run, opposite field home run in the first inning off McCarthy, his fourth of the season. He later added a three-run shot. More >
"Too bad it was on a night when our pitching wasn't up to par," Padres manager Bud Black said of Upton's home runs.

Ship almost righted: After allowing hits to three of the first four batters he faced, including a pair of home runs, McCarthy didn't allow another hit until Yangervis Solarte's single leading off the sixth inning. But that was the beginning of the end, as Matt Kemp singled and Upton homered as McCarthy left with an injury. More >
First-inning flurry: The home runs by Wil Myers and Upton in the first inning marked the first time the Padres have hit two or more home runs in the first inning of a game since August 20 of 2011 against the Marlins (Orlando Hudson and Kyle Blanks).

The four home runs allowed by the Padres on Saturday were the most the team has yielded in a single game since July 9 of last season when the Rockies hit five at Coors Field. In fact, Padres pitchers have only allowed four or more home runs in a game twice since May 17, 2013.
REPLAY REVIEW
The Dodgers lost a manager's challenge in the top of the first inning. Yasmani Grandal, trying to score from first on Carl Crawford's double into the right-field corner, was called out at the plate by umpire Marty Foster and the call was ruled as stands upon review.

EJECTION
San Diego right fielder Kemp took a called third strike to end the seventh inning -- and he wasn't happy about it. After a short discussion with plate umpire Marty Foster, Kemp was ejected from the game. Kemp and teammate Will Venable are the lone Padres players to be ejected this season. Manager Bud Black has been ejected twice.
WHAT'S NEXT
Dodgers: Veteran Scott Baker will be called up from Triple-A to make his Dodgers debut as the fifth starter at 1:10 p.m. PT in Sunday's series finale at Petco Park. Baker was signed at the end of Spring Training after being released by the Yankees. Alex Guerrero is expected to start at third base, with Juan Uribe getting a rest.
Padres: The Padres send No. 5 starter Brandon Morrow to the mound for the series finale against the Dodgers. Morrow, who up until this season had spent his entire career in the American League, has never faced the Dodgers.
