Dodgers recall catcher Keibert Ruiz

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled catcher Keibert Ruiz.

Ruiz, 22, will be on the active roster for the first time this season after playing in two games for the Dodgers in 2020. The switch-hitting backstop made his Major League debut on August 16, 2020, clubbing a solo homer in his first at bat and becoming the seventh Dodger in franchise history to homer in their first at bat. The Valencia, Venezuela native has been with the Dodgers since signing on July 20, 2014 as an international free agent. In 387 minor league games in the Dodger organization, he is a .299 (430-for-1439) hitter with 29 homers and 199 RBI.
