Dodgers recall Matt Beaty

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled infielder/outfielder Matt Beaty and placed outfielder Billy McKinney on the injured list with left hip impingement. 

Beaty, 28, returns for his third stint with the club and has appeared in 105 games for the Dodgers this year, batting .262 (49-for-187) with five homers and 34 RBI. With Triple-A Oklahoma City, he hit .357 with three doubles and four RBI in nine games. In three seasons with the Dodgers, he has hit .259 (126-for-486) with 24 doubles, 16 homers and 85 RBI. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 12th round of the 2015 First Year Player Draft out of Belmont University.

McKinney, 26, has split the year between Milwaukee, New York and Los Angeles, batting a combined .192 (12-for-265) with nine homers and 27 RBI in 116 games. In his 37 games with the Dodgers, he has batted .146 (12-for-82) with one homer and seven RBI. In parts of four Major League seasons with the New York Yankees (2018), Toronto Blue Jays (2018-2020), Milwaukee Brewers (2021), New York Mets (2021) and Los Angeles, he has hit a combined .215 (137-for-638) with 27 homers and 68 RBI. He was originally drafted in the first round of the 2013 First Year Player Draft out of Plano West High School by the Oakland Athletics.
