Porter grew up in Surprise, Ariz., and attended Valley Vista High School, which sits directly across from the Royals' and Rangers' Spring Training complex...His parents, Pete and Heidi, live a mile and a half from the facility...As a sophomore, Porter needed community service hours for his fire science class so he ended up logging hours as a clubhouse attendant for the Royals' AZL team...Began his collegiate career at Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva, Okla...Was named the NOSU Freshman and Sophomore Athlete of the Year in his two seasons there (2015-16)...Transferred to Dixie State (now Utah Tech) in 2017 and was named a finalist for the Josh Willingham National MVP Award as a junior...Porter hit .376 with a Pac West-leading 18 doubles and set a Dixie State single-season record with 72 RBI.

2025

Signed with the Giants as a Minor League free agent in 2024 and was a Spring Training invitee...Had his contract purchased from Triple-A Sacramento on June 11, replacing C Patrick Bailey, who was placed on the 10-day Injured List...Optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on June 18 with C Patrick Bailey returning from the IL...Was designated for assignment on July 3 and outrighted on July 7...hit .143 (1-for-7) with two runs, and an RBI in six games...Played 73 games for Triple-A Sacramento, batting .212 (49-for-231) with 39 runs, six doubles, six home runs, 29 RBI and a .662 OPS.

2024

Played for three different teams at the Triple-A level, including a stint in the Giants organization...Was a non-roster invite to Kansas City’s Major League Spring Training, his third Spring Training with the Royals...Opened the year with Triple-A Omaha and appeared in 32 games, slashing .319/.428/.575 (1.003 OPS) with 16 extra-base hits and 22 RBI...Acquired by the Giants on June 14 in exchange for cash considerations...Was assigned to Triple-A Sacramento and joined the River Cats on June 18...Appeared in 21 games for Sacramento from June 18-July 14, hitting .253 with a .716 OPS...Was released by the Giants on July 17...Signed a Major League deal with the Mets on July 22 and was assigned to Triple-A Syracuse...Was designated for assignment by the Mets eight days later on July 30, but cleared waivers and was outrighted back to Syracuse...Appeared in 20 games for Syracuse over the final two months of the season...Slashed .372/.462/.679 with a 1.141 OPS in 78 at-bats vs. left-handed pitching...In 169 at-bats vs. right-handed pitching, slashed .219/.328/.349 for a .677 OPS...In his 73 games across the three stops, he posted a .370 OBP, had 25 extra-base hits and an .823 OPS...Across his three stops in 2024, Porter appeared in 52 games as a catcher, 13 games at first base and nine games as a DH.

2023

In Game 2 of a doubleheader on Sept. 12, he became the eighth player to make his Majors debut with the Royals in 2023...he started at catcher and went 2-for-4 with a hit-by-pitch and a two-run single in his first at-bat off Touki Toussaint... He became just the third player in franchise history to record at least two hits and two RBI in his Majors debut, following Kyle Isbel on April 1, 2021 vs. Texas and Mark Quinn on Sept. 14, 1999 vs. Anaheim... In his debut, Porter became the fourth player in Royals history to record a two-run hit in his first career plate appearance, following Joel Peralta on May 20, 2007 at Colorado, Al Cowens on April 6, 1974 vs. Minnesota and Keith Marshall on April 7, 1973 at California...Caught all 9.0 innings in his Majors debut, and in tandem with Jordan Lyles, they retired the first 12 batters of the game…he became the second player in Royals history to start in his MLB debut behind the plate and reach safely three times, joining Jorge Pedre, who had three walks on Sept. 7, 1991... Replaced Salvador Perez behind the plate in the top of the 5th on Sept. 16 vs. Houston and hit his first career home run in the 8th off Joel Kuhnel, with whom he was teammates on a club baseball team as a teenager in Arizona... Logan reached base safely in eight of his 10 games with a plate appearance, including 6 hits, 5 walks and 1 hit-by-pitch for a .324 on-base pct... In 110 games with Omaha, 29 of his 88 hits (33%) went for extra bases, including 16 doubles and 13 home runs, with 48 RBI and 60 walks.

2022

Porter led Royals full-season qualifiers in 2022 with a .442 on-base percentage in 473 plate appearances at Double-A and Triple-A and finished second with a .301 average and .918 OPS...his OPS ranked sixth among all Minor League primary catchers (min. 350 at-bats)...Defensively, he played 454.0 innings at first base and made one error (.998 fielding percentage), and 306.2 innings behind the plate, making one error (.997 fielding percentage)...He batted .301 for both Northwest Arkansas and Omaha and was one of only three qualifiers to finish with a season on-base percentage above .440 at the Triple-A and Double-A levels, joining Esteury Ruiz (.447) and Edouard Julien (.441). 

2021

Named a High-A Central postseason All-Star at catcher after spending the season with Quad Cities, playing in 77 games and posting an .819 OPS after batting .241 (62-for-257) with 10 doubles, one triple, 14 home runs, 45 RBI and 45 walks...Started 43 of 44 games he played at catcher while also playing in 23 games at first base and one at third, finishing with a .992 fielding percentage between all three positions...Was one of five players in Minor League Baseball to play in less than 80 games and still record 45-or-more walks and RBI this season...Went 2-for-4 with a walk and RBI in the High-A Central clinching Game 5 vs. Cedar Rapids.
