10 Classic Derek Jeter Moments

We got the news today that Derek Jeter will be hanging up his spikes at the end of the 2014 season. What better way to salute The Captain than by counting down some of his most memorable moments from the last 19 years.

10. 1998: Jeter's signature move, the jump throw from the hole.

9. 2000: Jeter goes 3-for-3 with two RBIs on his way to an All-Star Game MVP Award.

8. 2008: The Captain bids an emotional farewell to Yankee Stadium.

7. 1996: His first Postseason hit. Through 2013, he's amassed 199 more.

6. 2000: Jeter opens Game 4 of the Subway Series with a home run.

5. 2004: Jeter makes an incredible 12th inning play against Boston, coming up bloody and bruised.

4. 2009: Jeter surpasses Lou Gehrig to set Yankees all-time hit record with hit #2,722.

3. 2001: Jeter becomes "Mr. November" with a walk-off home run after midnight on November 1st.

2. 2001: The Flip. Jeter pulls off one of the most amazing plays of all time, keeping the Yankees alive in the ALDS.
