Indians announce 2012 Regular Season broadcast schedule and game times

Schedule to Feature New Game Times for Select Home Games SportsTime Ohio (STO) to Broadcast 151 Regular Season Games FOX to Highlight Indians in Four Broadcasts in 2012 Indians Radio Network, Including Flagship WTAM 1100AM, to Provide Radio Broadcasts

CLEVELAND, OH --- With Opening Day at Progressive Field only 70 days away, The Cleveland Indians today announced the 2012 regular season game times and broadcast schedule including 155 televised games.

Recognizing the need to provide additional flexibility for families with their busy schedules, the Indians will feature new, family-friendly weekend game times in 2012. These select dates throughout the season will begin at 6:05PM for Saturday night games and 3:05PM for Sunday day games; providing families different time options for arriving and exiting Progressive Field. These new targeted game times include:

  • June 3 vs. Minnesota Twins at 3:05PM
  • July 7 vs. Tampa Bay Rays at 6:05PM
  • July 22 vs. Baltimore Orioles at 3:05PM
  • August 11 vs. Boston Red Sox at 6:05PM
  • September 16 vs. AL Central rival Detroit Tigers at 3:05PM

The Tribe will open the 2012 season, their 112th campaign as a member of the American League, at Progressive Field against the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday, April 5 at 3:05PM.  The first homestand will consist of a three-game series against the Blue Jays (April 5-7-8) and three games against the Chicago White Sox (April 9-11).  The Tribe will then travel to Kansas City (April 13-15) and Seattle (April 17-19). Additional highlights include, interleague play featuring the renamed Miami Marlins (May 18-20); St. Louis Cardinals (June 8-10); Pittsburgh Pirates (June 15-17); Cincinnati Reds (June 12-14 & June 18-20) and Houston Astros (June 22-24). 

2012 INDIANS REGULAR SEASON TV AND RADIO BROADCAST SCHEDULE

  • SportsTime Ohio (STO) will televise 151 total regular season Tribe games in 2012, of which WKYC-TV3 will air 20 regular season games as the flagship station of the Indians Over-the-Air network.  Those 20 over-the-air games will also be simulcast on SportsTime Ohio. 
  • FOX will air four regular season Indians games including:
    • April 28 vs. Los Angeles Angels at 1:05PM
  • June 2 vs. Minnesota Twins at 7:15PM
  • June 9 vs. St. Louis Cardinals at 7:15PM
  • September 15 vs. Detroit Tigers at 4:05PM
  • The Indians will continue to be among the industry leaders in High Definition (HD) broadcasts as all 151 STO Regular Season Cable/Satellite Games and all 20 over-the-air games on WKYC-TV3 will be in HD.
  • RICK MANNING, MATT UNDERWOOD and AL PAWLOWSKI are set to handle the broadcasts from the booth for the Indians games on SportsTime Ohio and the Tribe’s Over-the-Air broadcasts on WKYC-TV3 during the regular season. 
  • STO will also broadcast additional Indians related programing including:
  • Tribe Report, 30-minute weekly run-down of latest in Indians news with Al Pawlowski
  • Minor League Magazine, 30-minue weekly broadcast on the club’s minor league happenings hosted by Pawlowski and JASON STANFORD
  • Indians 1-On-1, featuring player interviews with KATIE WITHAM

Indians Radio Network, including the Flagship Station WTAM-1100AM and 27 others stations in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, will broadcast Indians regular season games in 2012.  “Voice of the Indians” TOM HAMILTON and JIM ROSENHAUS call the games on radio.
