Early in Spring Training, the Astros have been one of the most exciting teams in baseball with a 4-2-2 record, which is third-best among Grapefruit League clubs. Houston, which has one of the youngest rosters in the Majors, leads all AL Grapefruit League teams in batting average (.316), runs (53) and home runs (13).

HISTORIC MOVE, NEW OPPONENTS
The Astros move from the National League to the American League, which was a mandatory requirement of Major League Baseball, is the first of its kind in history. As a result of the move, every team in baseball will visit Houston in a span of two seasons (2012-13). The Astros will host the intrastate rival Texas Rangers for 10 games in 2013, including what will be MLB's exclusive Opening Night game on Sunday, March 31.

Other new and attractive opponents include the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, featuring old-nemesis Albert Pujols, Rookie of the Year Mike Trout and Josh Hamilton, and the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, two of baseball's most storied franchises. The Astros will also host the defending AL Champion Detroit Tigers, featuring AL MVP Miguel Cabrera and slugging first baseman Prince Fielder.

PROMOTIONS
The 2013 home schedule is filled with a variety of promotions and events for fans of all ages to enjoy. Below is a first glance at what fans can look forward to during the upcoming inaugural American League season.

Big and Bright Friday Nights
Friday nights are back, and they're bigger and brighter than ever! Every Friday night home game this season will feature your Astros wearing the new orange alternate home jersey, and include the return of the ever popular Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Marathon Oil Corporation. Once a month,
10,000 fans will receive a "Big and Bright Friday Night" t-shirt featuring a new design monthly.

Gate Giveaways
Gate giveaways are back and better than ever in 2013 with the inclusion of the Houston Astros new brand! New logos and colors are featured on most given away this season, including Inaugural American League West baseballs, featuring the new AL West rivals, a mini bat, umbrella and more. A Jose Altuve bobblehead will feature the second baseman in our primary home uniform set, with the base of the doll highlighting his 2012 All-Star selection. The Astros returning mascot, Orbit, will be featured in his first "bobble-belly", in which the doll will wiggle from the hip, rather than the head. All three (3) home jerseys will be featured as giveaways this season, including the white, orange and blue/rainbow batting practice jersey.

Pink in the Park
Pink in the Park Week, dedicated to bringing awareness to breast cancer research, is back for its fifth season in 2013. This week (May 7-May 12) will feature pink elements throughout the stadium, and pink items in an effort to creatively display the club's commitment to the cause. Items include a pink cosmetic bag set (May 10), a pink cap (May 11) and a pink canvas tote bag (May 12).

Faith And Family Night
The Astros are pleased to announce the return of Faith and Family Night at Minute Maid Park! Prior to the concert, fans will have the opportunity to hear from a member of the Astros team as they give their personal testimony.
