All-Star umpires, scorekeepers announced

Tim Welke, a veteran of 32 big league seasons, will be the home-plate umpire and the crew chief at the 86th All-Star Game in Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park on Tuesday.

Welke will be working his third career All-Star Game and his first since 2005. The full All-Star umpire crew will consist of first-base umpire Jerry Meals, second-base umpire Paul Schrieber, third-base umpire Ron Kulpa, left-field umpire James Hoye and right-field umpire Alan Porter.

Meals, Schrieber and Kulpa will all be working their second All-Star Game, and Hoye and Porter will be working the Midsummer Classic for the fiirst time. Brian Gorman, who's working in his 24th season as a Major League umpire, will man the Replay Operations Center.

The game's official scorers will be Mike Cameron and Ron Roth, as well as John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
