Angels Armed Forces Day

This Saturday, the Angels are going to honor the military by having an Armed Forces day. In addition to wearing these sweet jerseys and hats, they’re going to have military vehicles on display outside Gates 1 and 4, a World War II aircraft flyover, a pregame on field ceremony and the veterans performing the national anthem. Pretty amazing right there. If they were to call it a day after that, I’d think people would be pretty pleased.

HOWEVER, they don’t stop there. This is Armed Forces day, not Armed Forces pregame. One of the bat boys will be the son of a fallen military member. The “steal third” contestant will be a daughter of a fallen military member. To top it all off, following the game, they will be having a three-inning scrimmage between two military camps – Camp Pendleton (Oceanside, CA) and Fort Sam Houston (San Antonio, TX). The participants will be veterans and wounded warriors. So awesome. Tip of the cap and salute to the Angels for honoring military members and wounded warriors.
