Angels' Eaves hits trio of homers off twin brothers

Kody Eaves led the Class-A Inland Empire 66ers to a 7-4 win over High Desert with a trio of home runs.

The second baseman, the Angels 25th-ranked prospect according to MLBPipeline.com, went 3-for-5 with three home runs and six RBIs in the win.

Eaves impressive performance came at the expense of David and Ryan Ledbetter, twin brothers and pitchers for High Desert.

"No, I wasn't aware of that -- that's something new to me," Eaves told MiLB.com when asked about the odd accomplishment. "That's funny, I didn't know that."

Eaves was selected in the 16th round of the 2012 Draft and is hitting .251 through 90 games this season.

Wednesday's power barrage, his first multi-homer game of the season, brings Eaves' season total to nine.

"It was awesome," Eaves told MiLB.com. "It was a good experience, I put good swings on the ball and just -- I can't even explain it -- it was fun."
