Outfield prospect Fish hits walk-off homer

Outfielder Mike Fish, the Angels' No. 19 prospect, hit a walk-off home run in the 10th inning Monday, leading Class A Burlington to a 7-5 victory against Quad Cities.

Facing right-hander Tyler Brunnemann with one out and a runner on first, Fish pulled a pitch out to left, ending the game. It was his second homer of the day.

Fish's first home run was a two-run shot in the fourth inning. He finished the game 3-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs. Second baseman Kody Eaves, the Angels' No. 20 prospect, added a triple and an RBI.

Fish was named the 2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a senior at Siena and the Angels selected him in the 32nd round of the First-Year Player Draft. He looked like a potential steal after hitting nine home runs in 46 games in rookie ball during his professional debut.

Fish has continued to find success this season, even as he has moved up to full-season ball for the first time. In 38 games with Burlington, he is hitting .277 with a .798 OPS and four home runs.
