Anniversary highlights Rockies promotional schedule

DENVER -- The Rockies will commemorate the 20th anniversary of their first game at Coors Field on April 26, with several of the club's greatest players of that era on hand. The celebration highlights the club's 2015 promotional schedule, which was announced Tuesday.

On April 26, 1995, Dante Bichette capped off the grand opener with a three-run homer in the bottom of the 14th for an 11-9 Rockies victory. This year's April 26 game against the Giants will give special recognition to the first game at Coors.

The Rockies also plan bobblehead giveaways featuring Justin Morneau to commemorate his 2014 National League batting title on April 12, Troy Tulowitzki on June 7, Nolan Arenado to commemorate the Rawlings Gold Glove Award on July 26, Star Wars on Aug. 22 and Jorge De La Rosa on Aug. 23; fireworks on Memorial Day (May 22), July 10 and Sept. 25; and Purple Mondays, which come with giveaways of hats (such as a knit bomber, a fedora, a trucker hat and more) and T-shirts, as well as Purple Monday Bingo, which allows all fans to play to win Rockies autographed items and more.

The promotions begin with the magnetic schedule giveaway on Opening Day, April 10, against the Cubs.

Fans can take advantage of all the promotions and events by becoming season-ticket holders. Any full-season or 20- or 25-game mini-package guarantees Opening Day. There also are plans beginning at 10 games, which are available online at www.rockies.com or by calling 303-ROCKIES.

Single-game tickets for 78 of the regular-season home games will be available exclusively online at rockies.com on Jan. 13. Fans wanting tickets to Opening Day or the May 22 and July 10 fireworks games must sign up via the Ticket Opportunity before July 19. Winners will be announced the week of Jan. 26.
