Promotions & Special Events

Green Day Fireworks Night: On Saturday, Aug. 31, the A's will host Green Day Fireworks Night, when fans can enjoy the pre-recorded music of local legends Green Day during the post-game fireworks show. Also, members of the band will throw out the first pitch and fans who purchased a special ticket package will receive a co-branded Green Day and Oakland A's cap.

Chevron STEM Zone: On Saturday, Aug. 31, the Chevron STEM Zone will be set up behind Section 217 during the game against Tampa Bay. The Chevron STEM Zone is a learning exhibit that was created to help deepen kids' interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics outside the classroom in a fun and hands-on manner.

Breast Cancer Awareness Day: The A's 15^th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness day is set for Sunday, Sept. 1, when more than 400 breast cancer survivors will be honored on the field prior to the game. Proceeds from select ticket sales and auction items will be donated to the American Cancer Society and the Cancer Prevention Institute of California, and the A's will honor Breast Cancer Connections-a local charity that benefits those with breast cancer-with the 10^th annual $5,000 "A Gift of Faith" grant, named after the late KTVU reporter Faith Fancher. Ken Korach "Holy Toledo" Book Signing: Prior to the games on Sept. 6-8, A's radio broadcaster Ken Korach will be signing his new book on the life of longtime Bay Area play-by-play icon Bill King, "Holy Toledo - Lessons from Bill King: Renaissance Man of the Mic." Korach will sign purchased copies of the book-set to be released on Friday, Sept. 6 and available for sale at O.co Coliseum-in the Bar & Grille from 6-6:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 and noon-12:30 p.m. on Sept 7-8.

Faith and Family Day: On Saturday, Sept. 7, this popular post-game event returns with A's players giving their testimonials and a special performance by Donnie Moore and the Radical Reality Team. Fans must purchase a special ticket at oaklandathletics.com/faith to participate in the post-game festivities.

"Breezy" Bochenek National Anthem: On Saturday, Sept. 7, 11-year-old cancer survivor and San Ramon native "Breezy" Bochenek will sing the national anthem prior to the A's 1:05 p.m. game against Houston. Breezy was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in her leg, undergoing an amputation and chemotherapy. Her positive attitude has inspired the Team Breezy Collegiate Cup fundraiser which features the Cal and Stanford soccer teams.

A's Fiesta Day, driven by Chevrolet: On Sunday, Sept. 8, all fans can enjoy an A's Fiesta Day pre-game tailgate party in Lot-A beginning at 10 a.m., and 10,000 fans will receive a Yoenis Céspedes Rally Scarf, driven by Chevrolet, upon entering O.co Coliseum. The pre-game festivities will include a Chevrolet Ride & Drive Event, live Lucha Libre wrestling, mariachi music, dancers, games, and an autograph session with Yoenis Céspedes.

Community Relations

State Farm Equipment Donations: State Farm will be accepting equipment donations to benefit local youth baseball leagues before the game on Saturday, Aug. 31. All fans who donate at the BART Plaza or Gates C and D will receive a drawstring bag, while supplies last, and be entered for a chance to win an autographed baseball.

Take the Field with the A's: The Take the Field with the A's program gives youth baseball and softball teams the chance to live out their Major League dreams. On Sunday, Sept. 8, youth players from San Lorenzo Little League will join Oakland A's players on the field during the National Anthem. Each participant receives an autographed baseball and t-shirt, courtesy of the A's Community Fund.

Little A's: On Saturday, Sept. 7, as part of the Little A's program, deserving youth and their chaperones of non-profit organizations will have the opportunity to attend an A's game free of charge. In addition to a game ticket, each child receives a Bank of America souvenir and child-admission pass to the Oakland Zoo. The Little A's program is presented by Bank of America and supported by the Oakland Zoo and Clorox.

Food Bank Wednesdays: At Wednesday home games, fans can donate five cans of food or $5 at one of the Alameda County Community Food Bank tents outside the ballpark and receive a two-for-one ticket voucher for a future A's game.

Green Stampede Homework Club: On Aug. 30, Sept. 3 and Sept. 5-6, elementary school students will visit O.co Coliseum to receive help with their homework from tutors and aids. An A's player will visit and sign autographs for the students as a way to congratulate them for their hard work. After the students have finished their homework, they are able to sit in the stands and watch the game.

AAA Saves: Through the AAA Saves program, AAA makes a $1,000 donation to a deserving organization for every save recorded by an A's pitcher. Prior to the game on Sept. 3, AAA will present a check to Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes, Oakland Firefighters Random Acts, Contra Costa County Search and Rescue, and Collaborating Agencies Responding to Disasters for their continued support of our community.

A's Amigos: On Friday, Sept. 6, an A's player will visit with Spanish-speaking children from Manzanita SEED Elementary School as part of the A's Amigos program. In addition to the pre-game chat, each child will receive a game ticket and an A's hat. A's Amigos is supported by Kelly Moore Paints and XFINITY.

A's Community Fund Silent Auctions: Every Saturday and Sunday home game, the A's Community Fund hosts a silent auction featuring signed and unsigned A's memorabilia as well as game-used items. The silent auctions are located in the A's fan center behind section 120 and end with the last out in the bottom of the 5^th inning.

State Farm Pitch In Award: State Farm's 18,000 agents across the nation take pride in their "pitch in" spirit, doing all they can to get you to a better state. Prior to six A's games, including Aug. 31 and Sept. 7, a local State Farm agent will join an A's player or coach in recognizing local individuals and organizations with the State Farm Pitch In Award as a thank you for their efforts to make the community better.

Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Auction: From Sept. 2-4, the MLBPAA will be at O.co Coliseum behind Section 217 to auction off memorabilia signed by Major League Baseball alumni. A portion of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the A's Community Fund.
