Altuve dealing with tightness in his left quadriceps

TORONTO -- Astros second baseman Jose Altuve left Saturday's game after six innings because of some tightness in his left quadriceps muscle, which he suffered going from first base to third base on a single in the first inning of an 8-6 win over the Blue Jays.

Manager Bo Porter said he was planning to give Altuve the day off on Sunday anyway, meaning he'll have two consecutive days off when you factor in Monday's scheduled off-day. Houston opens a three-game series on Tuesday in Baltimore.

"It's one of those things [where] he could have finished the game," Porter said.

Altuve brushed off the injury, saying he would be ready for Tuesday. He went 1-for-3 on Saturday, and has reached base safely in nine of his last 11 games. Jake Elmore, who replaced Altuve in the game, will likely get the start in Sunday's series finale.
