Altuve exits early vs. Reds with abdominal strain

CINCINNATI -- Astros second baseman Jose Altuve left Friday night's game against the Reds in the bottom of the third inning with a left lower abdominal strain.

Matt Downs, who was filling in a third base, made the move to second base, and Matt Dominguez, who had been out of the lineup nursing a wrist injury, came in at third.

Before the game, Astros manager Tony DeFrancesco said Dominguez might have been available late in Friday's game, depending on how he felt following batting practice.

Altuve was 1-for-2 before leaving the game, after getting a hit on the first pitch of the contest. He later scored on Justin Maxwell's two-run home run in the first.
