Atlanta Braves announce front office promotions

ATLANTA -The Atlanta Braves have promoted three people on the business side of the organization.

Larry Bowman, has been promoted to Vice President of Stadium Operations and Security. Bowman has been with the Braves organization since September of 1992 and is responsible for overseeing game, ballpark expense and parking budgets, supervision of full-time and part-time employees, initiation and finalization of major game operations related contracts, site and player security, game operations, logistics and life safety and support services, parking, crisis communication and management, direction and implementation of MLB and Braves policies and procedures, liaison to key governmental partners, operations and security based research.

Kim Childress has been elevated to Vice President and Controller. Childress began her accounting career with Turner Broadcasting in 1993 before moving over to the Braves in 1997 as a Senior Accountant, rising to Assistant Controller in 2000 and became the Director of Finance and Accounting in 2008. She is responsible for management of the accounting function and overseeing the accounting team, maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes, preparation of monthly financial statements and overseeing the payroll process.

Lara Juras has been promoted to Vice President of Human Resources. Juras arrived at the Braves in January of 2006 as Director of Human Resources after working at Coopers and Lybrand (now Pricewaterhouse Coopers) and the Detroit Tigers. She is responsible for employee relations, policy and procedures, compensation, benefits, diversity, training, evaluations, professional development and recruiting.
