Atlanta Braves Pink Out the Park on October 3
The Atlanta Braves will host their 9th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day on Saturday, October 3, before they match up with the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Brave are teaming up WellStar Health System, Kroger and the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer to hold a day-long celebration of survivorship and to honor those who have courageously battled breast cancer.
The day will include a pregame reception for survivors, where the 2015 Diamond of Hope Awards will be presented by a Braves player. The award honors inspirational breast cancer survivors who have engaged in the fight against breast cancer or assisted other survivors through their difficult struggle.
After the reception, all survivors will take the field to release pink balloons as part of a pregame ceremony.
All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game that evening, and the first 10,000 fans through the gates will receive a pink foam tomahawk presented by WellStar. Monument Grove will also be filled with breast cancer awareness tables for fans to learn about how they can unite in the fight, and a Pink Wall to sign in honor of loved ones affected by breast cancer. Pink ribbons and "I Go Pink For" placards will also be handed out at each gate before the game.
