Colon sets club record for consecutive decisions
Righty passes Gooden's mark with 26th straight in loss to Blue Jays

Colon fell to 9-5 in 14 starts this season in Thursday's 7-1 loss to the Blue Jays, recording a decision in each of his outings. Dating back to July 23, 2014, Colon has a decision in 26 straight starts, breaking Dwight Gooden's franchise record of 25 straight from June 2, 1993, to June 24, 1994.
Mostly, the streak has been a testament to Colon's ability to pitch deep into games, averaging well over six innings per start throughout it. Colon also has a tendency to extremes; three of his last four losses were blowouts of at least six runs.
That was the case Thursday, when the Blue Jays took advantage of several defensive lapses behind Colon to score a six-run victory. Trailing by just one run entering the fourth, Colon gave up five runs on six hits that inning to put the game out of reach. He recorded just one out in the fifth before departing.
"I was feeling great overall," Colon said. "But in the [fourth] inning I ran into trouble."
