Beckett's arm feels 'normal' after 128-pitch no-no

LOS ANGELES -- The day after his 128-pitch no-hitter, Dodgers right-hander Josh Beckett, 34, said his arm felt "pretty normal. A pretty common day after a start. Certainly, when I was younger, I would feel a little bit better the day after."

Manager Don Mattingly said the Dodgers would closely monitor Beckett before his next scheduled start, Friday against Pittsburgh.

"We'll see how he is," Mattingly said. "He said he feels good today."

Beckett's mound opponent on Friday is scheduled to be left-hander Francisco Liriano. Drew Butera, who caught Beckett's no-hitter, was the catcher for Liriano's no-hitter for the Twins on May 3, 2011.
