Blue Jays 2015 Honda Home Opener

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS will open the home portion of their 39th season with a sold out Rogers Centre for HONDA HOME OPENER on Monday, April 13th against the Tampa Bay Rays at 7:07pm.   Gates will open at 5:00pm and Blue Jays fans are strongly encouraged to arrive early and be a part of the festive atmosphere at the ballpark.

Upon entering Rogers Centre, Blue Jays fans will receive a Honda Home Opener Rally Towel to wave during the game to support the home team. Courtesy of Honda Canada, one lucky baseball fan will be awarded a brand new 2015 Honda CR-V EX, while two others will go home with Honda lawnmowers during the game.

In addition, the winner of the Jays Care Foundation 50/50 draw, presented by Ericsson, has the potential to take home up to $40,000.

Pregame ceremonies will be highlighted with a presentation of the 2014 Silver Slugger Award to Jose Bautista by Blue Jays Level of Excellence members George Bell and Carlos Delgado. Bautista's award marks his 3rd Silver Slugger as a Toronto Blue Jay, joining the select company of both Delgado and Bell, also three time Silver Slugger Award winners.

Major League Baseball Commissioner Robert D. Manfred Jr. will take part in the Ceremonial First Pitch to start our 2015 home schedule. Accompanying the Commissioner will be 9 year-old Ben Sheppard representing the Blue Jays Baseball Academy. This marks the first time in franchise history to have the Commissioner of Baseball present at the Blue Jays Home Opener.

Performing the American national anthem will be Douglas Tranquada. The Canadian national anthem will be sung by the crowd with the accompaniment of the Blue Jays' organist. Presenting the colours will be the RCMP Colour Guard and carrying the large Canadian Flag will be 250 members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Following the game all fans will be presented with a 2015 Toronto Blue Jays magnet schedule. Fans across the country can watch the game, including the pregame ceremonies, live on Sportsnet or listen to the game on the Sportsnet Radio network. The Honda Opening Series continues with games against the Tampa Bay Rays April 14-16 before taking on the Atlanta Braves April 17-19 and the Baltimore Orioles April 21-23.
