Blue Jays claim Hendriks

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed RHP LIAM HENDRIKS off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. To make room on the 40-man roster, Toronto designated INF BRENT MOREL for assignment.

Hendriks, 25, spent last season with the Minnesota Twins, posting a record 1-3 with a 6.85 ERA in 10 appearances (eight starts). The Perth, Australia native has spent three seasons in the Majors, all with the Twins, owning a 2-13 record with a 6.06 ERA over 30 games (28 starts).
  
Morel, 26, spent the majority of 2013 with the Charlotte Knights of the International League (AAA) in the Chicago White Sox organization. In 194 career major league games, the Bakersfield, California native has hit .229 with 13 home runs and 54 RBI.
