Blue Jays recall INF Mike McCoy

The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled infielder Mike McCoy from Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League (AAA) and have optioned outfielder Eric Thames to Las Vegas.  

McCoy, 31, has appeared in 44 games this season for Las Vegas batting .238 with 14 RBI and a .381 on-base percentage.   This season the 5-9, 175 lb. right-handed hitter has played at second base, third base, shortstop and the outfield for Las Vegas.  McCoy owns a career Major League batting average of .194 in 138 games with 19 stolen bases over parts of three seasons with Colorado (2009) and Toronto (2010 & 2011).

Thames, 25, has appeared in 46 games for Toronto this season posting a .243 batting average with seven doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI.  The 6-1, 205 lb. left handed hitter is batting .193 in May with one home run and eight RBI.   Thames, who also appeared in 95 games for Toronto last season, has a career batting average of .257 in 141 games with 31 doubles, 15 home runs and 48 RBI.
