Carpenter, Santangelo returning as Nats' TV duo
WASHINGTON -- Bob Carpenter was offered a contract to return as the TV play-by-play voice of the Nationals, while his partner, F.P. Santangelo, had his option picked up for the 2013 season, according to two baseball sources.
Bill Ladson is a reporter for MLB.com and writes an MLBlog, All Nats All the time. He also could be found on Twitter @WashingNats.Carpenter, who is expected to sign the contract soon, and Santangelo will work together for the third consecutive season for the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network. Neither Carpenter nor Santangelo were available for comment.
Carpenter has been with the Nationals since 2006 and is known for the catch phrase, "See -- you -- later," whenever a Nationals player hits a home run.
Santangelo, who is Carpenter's fifth TV partner, is best known for the catch phrase, "Are you kidding me?" whenever he sees a great play on the field.
