Braves announce Tentative 2015 Schedule
Atlanta scheduled to play 20 interleague games
Today the Atlanta Braves and Major League Baseball released their tentative schedule for the 2015 season. A finalized schedule with start times will be released at a later date in the offseason.
The Braves open the 2015 regular season on Monday, April 6, at Miami, with a three-game series versus the Miami Marlins (April 6-8). Following the brief, three-game opening road trip, the Braves open the home portion of the 2015 campaign with a three-game weekend series, April 10-12, versus the New York Mets. The Braves continue their opening homestand with three games versus the Marlins, April 13-15.
The Braves play a total of eight interleague series (20 total interleague games), with four series (10 games) taking place at Turner Field. The Braves' home interleague portion of the 2015 campaign opens with a two-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays, May 19-20, and also includes a weekend series against the New York Yankees, August 28-30. The Braves will also play host to the Boston Red Sox (June 17-18) and the Toronto Blue Jays (September 15-17). Atlanta will play four road interleague series, including a three-game series at the Blue Jays, the second weekend of the season, April 17-19. The Braves' other American League road opponents include the Red Sox (June 15-16), the Baltimore Orioles (July 27-29), and the Rays (August 11-12).
The Braves host two teams over the six-game, July 4th holiday homestand, including the Washington Nationals (June 30-July 2) and Philadelphia Phillies (July 3-5).
The overall home portion of the 2015 schedule includes 10 games each against National League East Division rivals Miami and New York, and nine games each against Philadelphia and Washington. The home portion of the schedule also includes 38 games against National League East opponents, 17 games against the National League Central Division, 16 against the National League West Division and 10 contests against American League teams.
The home slate overall features 40 games played at Turner Field prior to the All-Star break and 41 home games following the break. The Braves will play 49 games on the road prior to the mid-summer classic, compared to 32 road games in the "second-half" of the season.
The Braves close out the regular season with six consecutive home games, September 29 to October 4, versus the Washington Nationals (September 29-October 1) and the St. Louis Cardinals (October 2-4).
