Braves Country Caravan, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors, sets out on tour of Southeast

Details announced for January 21 visit to Spartanburg, S.C.

ATLANTA - With the 2015 Major League Baseball season quickly approaching, the Atlanta Braves are setting out into Braves Country for their annual caravan, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors. The caravan will make stops throughout the Southeast starting on Tuesday, January 20, and concluding on Saturday, January 31.

The Braves Country Caravan gives fans the opportunity to interact with Braves players, coaches and broadcasters before the new season kicks off in April. Caravan stops will include autograph sessions at Academy Sports + Outdoors stores, community appearances, and private events with A List Members.

Steve Janas, a pitcher for the Rome Braves, attended Mountain View Elementary School as a child.   The Marietta native went on to play baseball at Kennesaw State University before being drafted by the Braves in 2013. On January 21, things will come full circle for Janas as he returns to Mountain View Elementary School with the Braves Caravan to share his experience with current students. The day will also be a family affair for Janas as he shares in it with his mother, who is a physical education teacher at Mountain View.

Players will assist students in a baseball-themed scavenger hunt in media center and visit classrooms in school.
