Braves' Spring Training schedule released

ATLANTA -- The Braves will open the 2016 Grapefruit League season against the Orioles and make their final preparations for the regular season with a game against some of their top Minor Leaguers.

We're a little less than three months away from Atlanta opening its exhibition season by hosting Baltimore on March 1 at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The Braves will travel to Sarasota the next day to play the Orioles again and then return home for a March 3 game against the Tigers.

Braves' tentative Spring Training calendar

Braves pitchers and catchers will report to camp on Feb. 19 and stage their first workout the next day. The first full-squad workout is slated for Feb. 25 at the Wide World of Sports complex, which will be serving as Atlanta's Spring Training home for the 19th straight season.

The Braves' 17-game home schedule includes three dates against the Astros and a pair of games apiece against the Tigers, Mets and Phillies. The Orioles, Marlins, Pirates, Yankees, Cardinals, Rays and Nationals are each scheduled to make one visit to Disney.

The Braves will have pair of home games during each of the final three weekends in March. They will host the Phillies on March 11 and the Nationals on March 12. They'll welcome the Marlins on March 18 and the Tigers on March 20. And the Astros (March 25) and Mets (March 26) will come to town during the final two home weekend dates.

The March 12 game against the Nationals will be one of three night games played at Disney. The others will be on March 24 against the Phillies and March 28 against the Yankees. Each of these contests are scheduled to begin at 6:05 p.m. ET.

The Braves are scheduled to close the Florida portion of their exhibition schedule on April 1 against a to-be-determined opponent. They will then play against their top Minor Leaguers on April 2 at another TBD location.

Individual tickets for Spring Training home games will go on sale on Monday. They are available at braves.com/springtraining or at the Wide World of Sports box office.
