Brewers Community Foundation Announces Partnership With Waterstone Bank

Brewers Community Foundation and WaterStone Bank to Make a Donation to the Sojourner Family Peace Center for Every Strikeout by a Brewers Pitcher at Miller Park

MILWAUKEE, WI - Brewers Community Foundation today announced a new partnership with WaterStone Bank. Through the partnership, WaterStone Bank will serve as the title sponsor for an in-stadium promotion called "WaterStone Bank's K's for a Cause."

WaterStone Bank and Brewers Community Foundation will each make a donation to the Sojourner Family Peace Center for every strikeout recorded by a Brewers pitcher at Miller Park during the 2014 season. At a later date this season, a Brewers pitcher and Brewers Community Foundation staff will join representatives from WaterStone Bank for a visit to the Sojourner Family Peace Center.

"We have had a longstanding partnership with Sojourner Family Peace Center. The work they do for families is critical to the well-being of our community," said Brewers Community Foundation Executive Director Cecelia Gore. "We are thrilled to partner with WaterStone Bank. This effort increases the impact we can have to improve the quality of life for others."

WaterStone Bank and Sojourner Family Peace Center will receive logo messaging on the "strikeout meter" sign at Miller Park, which is located on the right field fascia. The display will include the total number of strikeouts by Brewers pitchers at Miller Park this season.

Over the past four seasons, Brewers pitchers have recorded the second-most strikeouts at home (2,698) among all Major League teams. Only the Atlanta Braves have tallied more strikeouts in their home ballpark during this stretch (2,715).

"It is an honor to partner with Brewers Community Foundation to continue our relationship with the Sojourner Family Peace Center," said Doug Gordon, President and Chief Executive Officer of WaterStone Bank. "We appreciate the significant contributions they each make to our community."
