Crawford slated for Minor League rehab

PHOENIX -- Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford is scheduled to begin a Minor League injury rehabilitation assignment Tuesday night with Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga.

Crawford has been on the disabled list since April 28 with a torn right oblique.

Manager Don Mattingly said Crawford will essentially be starting Spring Training again because he's been sidelined for two months. He is likely to require several weeks of games at several levels.

Mattingly also said last week that Crawford is not likely to reclaim the starting left fielder's job that was his when he was injured because of the productive play of Andre Ethier, who has platooned in left field with Scott Van Slyke since Yasiel Puig has returned to right field from the disabled list.

When injured, Crawford was hitting .245 in 15 games with one homer and three RBIs, 10 strikeouts and one walk. Ethier entered Monday hitting .260 with nine homers and 27 RBIs.

Mattingly said Brandon League (right shoulder impingement) is expected to complete his injury rehab with an appearance Monday night for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
