Citizens Bank Park 'Phun Phacts' from 2004

•The Phillies are the only Major League Baseball team to open two new ballparks in the same year: Bright House Field (March 4) and Citizens Bank Park (April 12).

•Larry Bowa played in the last game at Connie Mack Stadium, got the first hit in Veterans Stadium, and he managed the Phillies in the last game at the Vet and the first game at Citizens Bank Park. Now, he's back as a coach.

Marlon Byrd was the Phillies' center fielder and leadoff hitter when they opened Bright House Field and Citizens Bank Park. He got the first hit and scored the first run at BHF, and he drew the first walk and stole the first base at CBP.

• Right fielder Bobby Abreu hit the first home run in the inaugural opener at Citizens Bank Park.

•Harry Kalas' first broadcast in the Majors was the first game in the Astrodome in 1965, with the Phillies as the Astros' opponent. With the Phillies, he broadcast the first game and last game at Veterans Stadium, and the first game at Citizens Bank Park.

• The final score for the first game played at both Veterans Stadium and Citizens Bank Park was 4-1. The Phillies beat Montreal in 1971 at the Vet, and they lost to Cincinnati at CBP.

• Reliever Rheal Cormier picked up the last Phillies win at Veterans Stadium and the first win at Citizens Bank Park. In addition, he picked up the Phillies' last win at Jack Russell Memorial Stadium.

• The Phillies hit six homers in a game, two by southpaw Randy Wolf, in bashing the Rockies, 15-4.

Tomas Perez started a game at first base, hit a game-tying double in the 8th inning and a walkoff, pie-in-the-face home run in the 10th inning.

• The Phillies set a Philadelphia record for hitting the most home runs at home, with 113. The previous Phillies record was 101 at Veterans Stadium in 1977. The Philadelphia A's hit the most at Shibe Park, with 109 in '32.

• Who was the only person to play at Connie Mack Stadium, Veterans Stadium and Citizens Bank Park? Organist Paul Richardson.
