Cleveland Indians name Cleveland-based Pierre's Ice Cream the team's official ice cream provider

Partnership continues club's long-standing commitment to working with local food companies

The Cleveland Indians announced today that Cleveland-based Pierre's Ice Cream Co. will be the team's official ice cream provider through 2016. Pierre's has had a presence at Progressive Field since 2003.

"Summertime fun is what Cleveland Indians baseball and delicious Pierre's Ice Cream are all about," Pierre's President and CEO Shelley Roth said. "As the official ice cream of the Cleveland Indians, we are honored to delight Tribe fans with our time tested recipe and irresistible flavors."

Pierre's products will be available at concession stands throughout the ballpark and, in conjunction with Delaware North Companies, will supply ice cream for Dynomite Burgers' signature milkshakes.

"We're excited to name Pierre's Ice Cream as the official ice cream provider of the Cleveland Indians," said Indians President Mark Shapiro. "Our organization has a long history of partnering with Cleveland-based companies, and we are proud to continue this tradition with Pierre's."

Pierre's was founded in 1932 and has been Cleveland- based and Cleveland-owned since its start. In its 83 years of business, Pierre's has received numerous recognitions including the Cleveland Food Dealers Honor Award, the American Culinary Federation Cleveland Chapter, Inc. Associate of the Year, and induction into the Weatherhead School's Family Business Hall of Fame in 1995.

Over the years, Pierre's has expanded its offerings with more than 235 products currently under the company's name. In addition to its own products, Pierre's also manufactures private label lines and distributes many national ice cream brands.
