Tulowitzki records 1,000th career hit

DENVER -- Troy Tulowitzki knocked his 1,000th hit on Saturday night in the seventh inning of the Rockies' game against the Mets.

The score was tied, 8-8, with one out in the inning when Tulowitzki singled off Mets reliever Daisuke Matsuzaka for his second hit of the contest.

Tulowitzki became the fifth player to reach 1,000 while wearing a Rockies uniform and the 78th active player to reach the mark.

Tulowitzki reached his milestone two innings after Nolan Arenado knocked a grand slam to run his hit streak to 23 games, tied for second-longest in club history.
