Rockies win challenge on pickoff attempt at first
ATLANTA -- The Rockies successfully challenged Gavin Floyd's pickoff of Jordan Pacheco at first base in the top of the seventh inning on Friday night at Turner Field. Colorado has won 14 of 22 challenges this season.
Pacheco led off with a single and took a lead at first with DJ LeMahieu at the plate. Floyd moved to pick off Pacheco before even throwing a pitch to LeMahieu, appearing to nab the catcher for the first out of the inning.
However, Colorado manager Walt Weiss came out of the dugout to challenge the call, and umpires ruled Pacheco safe after a review lasting one minute and 30 seconds. The Rockies didn't score in the inning, leaving the game tied at 2.
