Seager, Anderson shine for Rancho Cucamonga

Shortstop Corey Seager and right-hander Chris Anderson were both selected by the Dodgers a year apart with the 18th overall pick in the First-Year Player Draft. On Friday, the pair teamed up for a big night with Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga.

Seager, drafted in 2012, hit his first home run of the season and Anderson, taken in 2013, threw six shutout innings. But their performances weren't enough as Visalia came back to defeat Rancho Cucamonga, 7-4.

Seager, the Dodgers' No. 1 prospect and No. 32 overall, hit a two-run homer in the first inning to give the Quakes the early lead. He finished the night 1-for-5 and is hitting .292 this season.

Anderson, the Dodgers' No. 5 prospect, allowed two hits and struck out seven in his six innings. It was the longest scoreless outing of his young career and lowered his ERA to 3.68 this season.
