Urrutia unable to join Orioles on trip to Toronto

BALTIMORE -- Henry Urrutia isn't going to be joining the Orioles when they go to Toronto because of a situation with his work visa.

Manager Buck Showalter made that announcement before Sunday's series finale with the White Sox.

"When we go to Toronto, you'll probably notice that Henry won't be on the trip," Showalter said. "Henry, because of his situation, he can't go out of the country, probably send him to Sarasota, [Fla.,] and meet us back in Boston."

The Cuban-born Urrutia has a .283 average in 22 games in his rookie season. He got a single in the 10th inning Saturday that started the game-winning rally in a 4-3 victory.

Baltimore will be playing in Toronto from Sept. 13-15. After that, he can join the team for a three-game series in Boston on Sept. 17-19.
