Rizzo asks for challenge on pickoff, but call stands
MIAMI -- In the eighth inning Tuesday night, the Cubs challenged J.T. Realmuto's footwork.
Realmuto had walked to lead off the Marlins' eighth, and Cubs pitcher Justin Grimm threw to first baseman Anthony Rizzo for a pickoff attempt. First-base umpire Laz Diaz called Realmuto safe, but Rizzo immediately signaled to the Cubs' dugout to ask for the umpires to review the play.
After a two-minute, four-second review, the ruling was that the call stands, and Realmuto was safe at first.
