Renteria's son on duty with Navy on Memorial Day

SAN FRANCISCO -- Cubs manager Rick Renteria was able to see his oldest son, Joseph, 35, who serves in the U.S. Navy, during the team's recent trip to San Diego. On Memorial Day, Joseph was back on duty.

"I think he's actually working," Renteria said of his son.

Joseph was recently stationed in San Diego, which makes it easier for him to see family when he has time. However, Renteria said his son is very devoted to serving the country.

"He was itching to get back to work," Renteria said.

On Monday afternoon, the Cubs and Giants observed Memorial Day by wearing special jerseys with the lettering and numbers on the uniforms in camouflage.
