Zero Park 30: D-backs dominating at AT&T

SAN FRANCISCO -- AT&T Park is known to be pitcher-friendly, but the D-backs are taking it to an extreme.

They beat the Giants, 6-0, on Saturday to increase their streak of scoreless innings at the ballpark to 30, dating back to June 13.

"I don't change my game plan, but it's a good pitcher's park," said left-hander Patrick Corbin, who tossed seven innings Saturday. "Everybody knows that. I wouldn't say that's the only reason we've had success, but it seems like one guy here pitches well and you want to outdo him the next day. Rubby [De La Rosa] did a great job yesterday and hopefully we can come out tomorrow and continue it."

In eight games against the Giants at AT&T Park, Arizona pitchers have combined for a 1.30 ERA. That's the lowest ERA by an opponent (minimum six games) since AT&T Park opened in 2000.

The lowest mark by an opponent ever against the Giants was the 1.15 ERA that Cubs pitchers posted in 1985 at Candlestick Park.

"Those are the things you really don't talk about because we just keep grinding away at it, but it's a great achievement for our pitchers," D-backs manager Chip Hale said. "The guys are confident and they're throwing the ball, listening to the plan and staying with it and locating it and guys are making plays behind them. The defense is playing well, the outfield is tracking down a lot of fly balls. So we're not making mistakes to let them have extra opportunities."
