Hill out of lineup due to sore right shoulder

ST. LOUIS -- D-backs second baseman Aaron Hill was out of the lineup for the third straight game on Tuesday due to a sore right shoulder.

Hill said an MRI taken of his shoulder during the last homestand did not reveal any structural damage and was just a matter of some inflammation.

"He's going to take some ground balls out there during batting practice," manager Kirk Gibson said prior to Tuesday's game. "We're just being cautious. It feels much better. We sat him out there for a couple of days. We had the off day yesterday. He came in here today wanting to play, but we said this is the way we're going to go with it. I think it will be fine."

Hill was initially scratched from the starting lineup prior to Saturday night's game and was never in Sunday's or Tuesday's.
