Dave Gallagher's favorite player: Jose Altuve

Jose Altuve is gaining fans across the world. He's becoming a household name in the States after leading the Major Leagues with a .341 average and 225 hits in 2014. Of course, he has a large following in his native Venezuela. He even added fans in Japan after an exhibition series there with fellow big leaguers over the offseason.

Dave Gallagher, who spent nine seasons with seven different clubs as an outfielder in the Majors from 1987-95 and now runs a baseball academy in Trenton, N.J., is one of Altuve's many supporters.

In this video for MLB.com, Gallagher explains why Altuve is his favorite current player to watch.
