Davidson breaks out of slump with 6 RBIs for Charlotte

White Sox No. 11 prospect Matt Davidson broke out of his mini-slump with a big day for Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon. The third baseman swatted a home run, two doubles and knocked in six in a 10-4 win over Toledo.

Davidson was 2-for-19 in his previous five games entering Wednesday, but his 3-for-5 day upped his season totals to four homers and 13 RBIs. His batting average jumped up by nearly 30 points from .234 to .261 after the game. Davidson now has a .320 OBP and .507 slugging percentage.

The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted Davidson out of high school with the 35th pick in 2009, and later traded Davidson to Chicago for Addison Reed in December 2013. In 2013, he appeared in 31 games for the D-backs, but didn't land any big league service last year.
