Gordon, Stanton maintain spots atop ASG ballot
Dee's lead over Wong slightly narrows; Big G trying to hold off Aoki for starting OF spot
MIAMI -- The lightning and thunder in the Marlins' lineup are currently holding starting spots in the National League voting race on the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot. Dee Gordon, who paces the NL in batting average and hits, ranks first among second basemen, while Giancarlo Stanton continues to claim the third outfield spot.
Gordon and Stanton rank among the leaders at their respective positions for the second consecutive week.
The speedy Gordon and slugging Stanton were both All-Stars in 2014. Each is making a strong push this season.

"I think it's well deserved," manager Dan Jennings said. "It's great to see guys that are having the beginnings of the season that they're having. I think the numbers speak for themselves. They're two exciting players. They bring a lot of energy to this ball team."
Jennings noted that shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria, not among the top five in the voting, is also All-Star worthy.

"I think now people are recognizing that this guy is very special at what he does," Jennings said.
Gordon entered Tuesday second in the NL in stolen bases with 20, one behind Cincinnati's Billy Hamilton. Stanton, meanwhile, paced the NL with 44 RBIs, to go with 15 home runs, which ranked third in the league.
Gordon has 1,531,048 votes, which is ahead of St. Louis' Kolten Wong (1,185,982). Stanton has 1,210,108 votes, which trails Washington's Bryce Harper and St. Louis' Matt Holliday and is ahead of San Francisco's Nori Aoki (1,012,117). While Gordon's lead has gone slightly down since last week, Aoki has cut Stanton's lead by more than 100,000 votes.
Fans can cast their votes for starters at MLB.com and all 30 club sites -- on their computers, tablets and smartphones -- using the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday, July 2, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
