Derrick Hall elected as Chairman of the Make-A-Wish Arizona Board of Directors

PHOENIX (July 8, 2014) - Make-A-Wish® Arizona, the state chapter of the international wish granting organization, recently elected Derrick Hall, president and CEO of the Arizona Diamondbacks, as the new Chair of the Make-A-Wish Arizona Board of Directors.

Hall has been on the Make-A-Wish Arizona board for five years. He and his fellow board members have built a strong team committed to the non-profit vision to grant the wishes of every eligible wish child in Arizona.

"Through our board's support, our chapter has increased the number of wishes we grant by more than 30 kids each year," said Elizabeth Reich, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Arizona. "We are excited to have Derrick help us continue that success."

As the leader of the Diamondbacks, Hall has positioned the team as one of the largest philanthropic entities in the Valley, with its Foundation and organization surpassing $37 million in charitable giving. The Foundation supported Make-A-Wish Arizona through sponsorships of the Summer of Wishes campaign, and support of the annual Walk for Wishes.

"I am thrilled and honored to be the incoming Chair for Make-A-Wish Arizona," said Hall. "Granting wishes for deserving children is the most rewarding gift we as board members can plan and be a part of. We hope to continue increasing the number of lives we can positively impact on an annual basis."

Hall is joined on the executive committee by Vice Chair Bruce Guest of Arizona Business Bank; Secretary Kathy Bollinger of Banner Health; Treasurer Todd Jarman of BBVA Compass; and, Immediate Past Treasurer Ron Butler of Ernst & Young.
