Detwiler slated for Potomac rehab start

WASHINGTON -- Nationals starting pitcher Ross Detwiler will start for Class A Potomac on Saturday as he continues to rehab a strained oblique.

Manager Davey Johnson said Thursday that Detwiler is "on target" in his rehab process and will throw between 40 and 50 pitches at Potomac. If all goes well, Johnson said that Detwiler will start for the Nationals on June 13 in Colorado or June 14 in Cleveland.

Detwiler threw a bullpen session on Wednesday and felt fine on Thursday. Johnson was concerned that the oblique would be sore after the bullpen session, as it was the day after Detwiler's previous bullpen on Saturday.

Detwiler was placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 27, retroactive to May 16.

"I'm just trying to focus on if I feel anything or not, just to make sure if we need to take any more time off, it's just another week and not a month," Detwiler said.
