Dodgers set to open and close next season on the road

LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers will open the 2016 regular season in San Diego on Monday, April 4, and close it in San Francisco on Sunday, Oct. 2, based on the tentative schedule released by Major League Baseball on Tuesday.

The Dodgers' home opener will be Tuesday, April 12, against Arizona.

The Dodgers will play the AL East in Interleague Play. There will be two games against the Angels at Dodger Stadium May 16-17, followed by a two games in Anaheim May 18-19. Baltimore visits Dodger Stadium July 4-6, Tampa Bay July 26-27 and Boston Aug. 5-7.

The Dodgers also have Interleague series against the Rays in St. Petersberg May 3-4, against the Blue Jays in Toronto May 6-8 and at Yankee Stadium Sept. 12-14.

The Dodgers will join all Major League clubs in celebrating Jackie Robinson Day on Friday, April 15, and will host the Giants with special pregame ceremonies.

That series (April 15-17) will be the first of three visits to Dodger Stadium by the Giants, who also play in Los Angeles on Aug. 23-25 and on Sept. 19-21.
