Dodgers activate Kennedy from disabled list

MIAMI -- The Dodgers activated infielder Adam Kennedy from the 15-day disabled list before Friday night's game against the Marlins.

Kennedy was put on the list July 26 with a strained right groin muscle and played six games on a Minor League rehab assignment, going 6-for-20 in five games with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and one game with Triple-A Albuquerque.

The Dodgers had already made room on the 25-man roster for Kennedy on Wednesday when they optioned outfielder Jerry Sands to Albuquerque.
