Jansen, in his third appearance since February foot surgery, was charged with three runs on two hits, one of them a homer, and a walk. He struck out two but reached a 25-pitch limit before he could finish the inning.

Mattingly said because of the pitch count, Jansen would not pitch again Thursday. Instead, he will tentatively be scheduled to throw back-to-back Saturday and Sunday.

"He felt fine," Mattingly said.

Jansen has targeted a May 15 return to the Dodgers.
