Dodgers RBI to Host MLB RBI West Regional Tournament as Five Leagues Compete
Teams Compete Friday & Saturday to Reach Championship Games at Dodger Stadium Sunday for Berth in RBI World Series
LOS ANGELES, CA - For the second consecutive year, Dodgers RBI will play host to the MLB RBI West Regional Tournament as five leagues and thirteen teams across three divisions will be competing for the right to advance to the RBI World Series.
Play begins Friday and concludes Sunday with the Junior Baseball (ages 13-15) championship game at 9:30 a.m. and the Senior Baseball (ages 16-18) championship game at 11:00 a.m. at Dodger Stadium. As host team, the Dodgers will have an official welcome dinner for all teams on Saturday night in the Dodgers' Stadium Club. Dennis Powell, a member of the Dodger Alumni League, will address the teams.
In addition to the Junior and Senior Baseball competition, the third division will feature girls' softball for ages 13-18. The winning teams will advance to the RBI World Series in Texas, Aug. 4-15.
The five leagues competing will represent Dodgers RBI, Angels RBI, Arizona RBI, San Diego Padres RBI and Nobu Yamauchi RBI from Hilo, Hawaii.
The girls' softball competition will be held at the MLB Urban Youth Academy in Compton (901 E. Artesia Blvd, Compton 90221).
The Junior Baseball competition will be held in two locations-Algin Sutton Recreation Center (8800 So. Hoover St., Los Angeles, CA 90044) and Ted Watkins Memorial Park (1335 E. 103rd St. Los Angeles 90002).
The Senior Division competition will be played at Jesse Owens Community Regional Park (9651 South Western Ave., Los Angeles 90047).
Algin Sutton Recreation Center, Ted Watkins Memorial Park and Jesse Owens Community Regional Park are all Dodgers DreamFields.
