Dodgers set for twin bill after DC opener rained out

LA to resume NL Wild Card chase on Wednesday behind Harang, Beckett

WASHINGTON -- The Dodgers' battle for National League Wild Card positioning will have to wait another day, as Tuesday night's series opener with the Nationals at Nationals Park was postponed.

The teams will play a single-admission doubleheader on Wednesday, with the first game beginning at 1:05 p.m. PT and the second starting approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the first or at 4:05 p.m., whichever is later.

Right-hander Aaron Harang, who was slated to start Tuesday's game, will take the mound for the first game on Wednesday against right-hander Jordan Zimmermann. Right-hander Josh Beckett will start the second game, his fifth with Los Angeles, opposite left-hander John Lannan, who will be making his second start since replacing Stephen Strasburg in Washington's rotation since Strasburg was shut down for the season.

The Dodgers are 1 1/2 games behind the Cardinals for the second Wild Card spot in the NL.

All tickets for Tuesday's game can be exchanged at the Nationals Park box office for seats of equal or lesser value for Wednesday's doubleheader or any remaining home game during the 2012 regular season, excluding the Saturday against the Brewers. Tickets for Wednesday's game will be valid for both games of the doubleheader.
