Encarnacion Hits Two Homers In Same Inning
Trailing 6-4 in the bottom of the seventh last night, Edwin Encarnacion took the game into his own hands. Encarnacion led off the inning with a home run. Adam Lind followed with a homer of his own. Tie game. Fast forward seven batters later in the same inning. He stood at the plate with the bases loaded and two outs. Full count. What does he do? HE HITS A GRAND SLAM!
Encarnacion, who received a well-deserved curtain call, is the first Blue Jays player since Joe Carter to hit two home runs in the same inning in 1993! Talk about some serious #Edwinging!
Edwin Encarnacion becomes the 2nd #Bluejays ever to hit 2 homers in an inning (Joe Carter). Solo shot and Grand Slam. #Jays lead 12-6 to t8.
